APEC Engineer Registration

  • An APEC Engineer may apply for an APEC Business Travel Card, which grants frequent business travelers pre-approved entry to participating APEC economies.

Introduction

An APEC Engineer is defined as a person who is recognised as a professional engineer within an APEC Economy and who has satisfied an authorised body in that economy and who has satisfied the IES Monitoring Committee that he/she has met the criteria set by the APEC Engineer Coordinating Committee to have:

a)     completed an accredited or recognised engineering program, or assessed 
        recognised equivalent;

b)     been assessed as eligible for independent practice in Singapore;

c)     gained a minimum of seven years practical experience since graduation;

d)     spent at least two years in responsible charge of significant engineering work; and state at least 2 years detailed working experience in report format and


e)     maintained a continuing professional development at a satisfactory level.

f)   to submit documentary evidence of participation in CPD at professional engineering level for the period under review

  • An APEC Engineer may apply for an APEC Business Travel Card, which grants frequent business travelers pre-approved entry to participating APEC economies.

  • IES will provide a supporting letter to verify APEC Engineer status. To obtain this letter, please send an email to : sherly.chong@iesnet.org.sg

  • To apply for an APEC Business Travel Card, please submit your application directly through the ICA website:  www.ica.gov.sg  :  ICA | APEC Business Travel Card

  • Please refer to the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) page on the APEC website (APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) | APEC) to check your eligibility for the APEC Business Travel Card.
