IES Academy
IES established the Continuing Education Centre (CEC) for professional development of its members and the public in 1990. To address the growing demand for continuing engineering education, IES Academy (IESA) was set up on 1 April 2006, taking over the expanding role of CEC with the view to provide professional updating and training needs of the engineering community.
To serve members better, IESA was relocated to the Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability in April 2016. IESA@Jurong East is easily accessible by MRT, bus and has ample carparks in the vicinity.
IES Academy trains some 8,000 participants annually to attain professional competencies, improve mobility, engineering leadership progression and continuous development. Accredited with ISO 29993, supported and funded by multiple partners and government agencies, IESA extends a wide reach to all branches of engineering in delivering quality learning service.
Other than engineering courses, IESA also collaborates with NTUC to co-organise the famed Engineers Leadership Programme that equip potential engineering leaders with the latest leadership and management skills taught by industry experts / champions and network with industry leaders. The ELP includes experiential learning and learning journey to stimulate reflection and conceptualisation.

Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Resident Technical Officers (Civil & Structural)
Exciting news! The Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) has been launched in June 2023. We are thrilled to support employers in recruiting ex-RTOs and equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to re-join the Build Environment sector!
Based on a survey conducted by The Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), there is a significant shortage of RTOs in the industry. This scarcity is due to the escalating construction demand fuelled by large-scale public and private residential and infrastructure projects. Remarkably, ex-RTOs have expressed strong interest in returning to the sector if given the opportunity. Under this programme, CCP Participants will go through four months of training comprising up to 640 hours on-the-job training at the hiring company.
