The IES–URA Seminar 2025, held on November 28 at One Farrer Hotel, convened planners, engineers, and industry experts for a comprehensive exploration of how digitalisation and advanced site investigation (SI) technologies are revolutionising Singapore’s major infrastructure planning.
Through a full-day programme of keynote presentations and panel discussions, leaders from URA, LTA, PUB, SLA, and leading practitioners showcased transformative tools. Highlights included non-invasive SI methods such as MCGPR, EML, and photogrammetry, alongside discussions on reality capture workflows and the strategic rollout of URA’s INPAC portal—Singapore’s first Government-to-Business (G2B) digital planning platform for utilities mapping.
The seminar consistently underscored the critical role of high-quality data, cross-agency collaboration, and sustained innovation in building a safer, smarter, and more cost-efficient underground ecosystem. Jointly organised by the Infrastructure Planning Authority Group (IPAG), URA, and the IES Civil & Structural Technical Committee, this event marked a significant step toward a more integrated and future-ready approach to national infrastructure development.
