National Engineers Day (NED) 2026 brought together nearly 400 attendees to celebrate the future of engineering and the visionary people shaping it on 14 August 2026! 🚀

We were honoured to welcome Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Development, as our Guest-of-Honour. Dr Syed delivered an inspiring congratulatory speech and presented awards to the outstanding winning student teams of the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC).

Key Highlights from NED2026:
• Strengthening Singapore’s Engineering Pipeline IES signed two milestone Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs):
• IES × AAIS: A new MOU with the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore) to advance industry collaboration, STEM initiatives, training, and knowledge sharing.
• IES × 11 Tertiary Institutions: A reaffirmed partnership with 11 Tertiary Institutions to further engineering education, innovation, and talent development.

Fireside Chat & Audience Q&A
We had the privilege of hearing from Mr Yee Boon Cheow, Deputy Chief Executive (Infrastructure & Development), Land Transport Authority. He shared invaluable perspectives on how emerging technologies are transforming transport and creating dynamic new opportunities for engineers. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees posed thoughtful questions on the future of mobility and smart infrastructure.
