The IES Standards Development Organisation (IES-SDO) was honoured to launch the SS 722:2026 Series, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Singapore’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Organised by IES-SDO in collaboration with the Singapore Standards Council, Enterprise Singapore and the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the launch event on 13 July 2026 brought together more than 120 industry professionals to exchange insights on the latest developments in EV charging technologies, infrastructure and standards.
Singapore’s progress in EV adoption has been supported by three key pillars:
• Clear policies and incentives
• Continued expansion of charging infrastructure
• A robust regulatory and standards framework
With approximately 33,000 EV chargers deployed across Singapore supporting 70,000 to 80,000 EV cars today, a strong technical foundation is essential to ensure that the charging network continues to expand safely and reliably.
The progression from TR 25 to the SS 722 reflects the rapid evolution of EV charging technologies and the importance of keeping standards relevant, safe and future-ready.
