On 14 August 2026, National Engineers Day (NED) 2026 brought together nearly 400 attendees to celebrate the future of engineering and the visionary people shaping it!
We were honoured to welcome Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Development, as our Guest-of-Honour. Dr Syed delivered an inspiring congratulatory speech and presented awards to the outstanding winning student teams of the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC).

IES Scholarship 2026 Is Now Open For Application
The Institution of Engineers, Singapore Scholarship (“IES Scholarship”) is established to support deserving Singapore citizens or permanent residents pursuing full-time undergraduate engineering/technology-related degree in local universities, full-time engineering/technology- related diploma programmes in local polytechnics and, full-time Nitec and Higher Nitec programmes in Engineering or technology-related programme in the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
Application is now open. Closing date is 25 August 2026.

2-Day Workshop on Basic Design of Concrete Structures - EC:2024 vs EC2 (1st Edition)
Organised by IES Civil & Structural Engineering Technical Committee
With the introduction of the second generation of Eurocodes, structural engineers need to understand the key changes in EC0, EC1 and EC2 and their impact on the design of reinforced concrete structures.
Join us for this 2-day practical workshop conducted by Professor Kang Hai Tan from Nanyang Technological University, where participants will gain practical insights into structural design principles, load combinations, structural analysis, second-order effects, flexural and shear design, punching shear, column design, and detailing requirements under the updated Eurocodes.
