Technical Tour 1: Punggol Digital District – A Smart District for a Smart Future

• Date: 24 October 2025 (Friday)
• Time: 9.30am to 11.30am (meet 8.45am at Orchard Hotel Singapore for transport)
• Fee: $45 (subject to GST)
Master planned by JTC, Punggol Digital District is a 50-hectare hub where innovation, education, and community converge. Home to leading companies in AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and fintech, and seamlessly integrated with SIT’s campus, it enables powerful partnerships between industry and academia.

Technical Tour 2: SingSpring Desalination Plant – Ensuring Singapore’s Water Security

• Date: 24 October 2025 (Friday)
• Time: 2.00pm to 4.00pm (meet 1.00pm at Orchard Hotel Singapore for transport)
• Fee: $45 (subject to GST)
Owned by Keppel Infrastructure Trust, SingSpring Desalination Plant is Singapore’s first large-scale seawater desalination facility, supplying up to 136,380 m³ of potable water daily. Using advanced reverse osmosis technology, it plays a vital role as one of PUB’s “Four National Taps.”

[Final Call] Registration of the Overseas Learning Journey to Shanghai and Hangzhou this October 2025
IES is organising an overseas learning journey to Shanghai and Hangzhou, China, from 15th to 21st October 2025. This event is held in conjunction with the Global Engineering Congress and WFEO General Assembly. And we would like to extend this exclusive invitation to non-IES members as well.
The Singapore delegation will be led by our IES President Er. Chan Ewe Jin and Emeritus President Er. Chong Kee Sen, and we will be visiting several organisations in Shanghai and Hangzhou, which includes Shanghai Association for Science and Technology (SAST), Huawei’s newly developed over 2000 acres R&D Center and Alibaba Headquarters in Hangzhou’s Xixi Campus among many others. The delegation will also be involved in the Sustainability Forum at Zhejiang University’s Zijingang campus.
