Advancing Engineering Excellence: IES Technical Delegation Explores Jakarta’s Infrastructure

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Civil & Structural Engineering Technical Committee is currently leading a 25-member delegation on a technical study trip to Jakarta, Indonesia. Running from April 8–10, the mission focuses on a series of high-level technical site visits. The itinerary commenced on Day 1 (April 8) with an in-depth tour of the Manggarai Station LRT Jakarta Project Phase 1B. The group was granted exclusive access to all project levels, including the concourse, mezzanine, and platform.

New Singapore Standards for Electric Vehicles Charging System

On 31 March 2026, a significant milestone was reached for Singapore’s transport ecosystem. In partnership with the Singapore Standards Council, Enterprise Singapore and the Land Transport Authority (LTA), officially published the SS 722:2026 series – four new standards designed to scale our EV infrastructure. The Institution of Engineers, Singapore – Standards Development Organisation (IES-SDO) managed the development of these standards.

“Key Amendments to Fire Code
Organised by Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Technical Committee

This annual half-day seminar on Key Amendments to the Fire Code provides practitioners with an update on the latest fire safety regulatory changes and their application in practice. The session covers updates from SCDF on the 5th batch of Fire Code amendments, as well as common audit findings for non-residential developments, highlighting recurring compliance issues and areas requiring attention during submissions.
