With an increase in the adverse impacts of climate change worldwide, commitments made by the countries in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as a lead up to COP21 in Paris, and limited national funds, countries have a pressing necessity to successfully tap into international climate funds in order to advance climate action. However, many countries in the Asia Pacific region still have limited capacity to formulate proposals to garner much needed finances for implementing projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
This course will address these critical gaps through 3-day in-depth practical and interactive presentation and discussion, conducted by two experienced experts in the field, which will bring participants to a higher level of understanding of what constitutes an acceptable climate mitigation or adaptation project proposal and enhance their capacities to successfully manage the process of project identification and preparation to successful conclusion.
The program aimed to equip participants with essential tools in crafting a “roadmap” to transform project concept into a project design document, which could later be developed into a full-fledged proposal to access suitable financing sources, from both domestic and international financial institutions.
