There was an unusual high spate of WSH accidents in 2022. As industries geared up for safety measures and tightened its own safety processes, MOM introduces a series of nation-wide measures to address the high fatality rate Singapore is facing.
MOM WSH nation-wide measures:
· Pre-Start Assessment
· Disqualification framework and revised demerit points system for construction sector
· Empowering workers and members of public to raise WSH issues
· Code of Practice on Chief Executives’ and Board of Directors’ WSH Duties
· Increased penalties for WSH offences
As part of the nation-wide measures, a new approved code of practice on WSH duties for Chief executives and Board of directors was introduced as one of the measures to drive down accident rates. With Senior management participating in WSH as part of their duties, this initiative seeks to employ leadership and top management policies to influence safety climate and outcomes within organization.
This session seeks to clarifies the WSH duties Chief executives and Board of Director holds as well as explanation to specific WSH measures and broad principles lay out for stakeholders involved.
This half-day course will cover the essential purpose of the new ACOP, WSH duties for Chief executives and Board of Director as well as the principles and measures described in the code. This will enhance their understanding on how this ACOP is understood with the legal requirements under the WSH ACT; thus addressing measures chief executives and board of directors can or must implement in their involvement with WSH.
Objectives
