Description:
Since 2002, PUB, the Association of Consulting Engineers (ACES) and the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) have jointly rolled out various ECM programmes, from awareness building, engagement of various stakeholders to launching of ECM related certification courses. This is to ensure that we have active, beautiful and clean waterways that Singapore can be proud of. Today, we have a pool of over 300 Qualified Erosion Control Professionals (QECPs) with the required knowledge and qualification to design ECM systems for construction sites that can comply with PUB’s requirements.
PUB has plans to further improve productivity in the ECM plan approval process. Starting Jul 2021, ECM proposal for minor works such as minor trenching works, development works without basement of a specified area, drainage works up to a specified width, and improvement to existing carparks will be processed based on QECP’s professional self-declaration.
