ABOUT SYNOPSIS
This webinar is a continuation and extension of previous Introduction on Glass Engineering which was held in February 2021.
This presentation will dive deeper into the design of glass elements and design of glass plates for façade which serves as the foundation.
Further review will be presented on the engineering process for glass fins, glass floors as well as glass beams, reviewing both the overall design of glass members and the engineering of glass fixings at supported ends or edges.
These methods are presented based on AS 1288 which is the most comprehensive and available standard to glass designers the few codes of practice approved by BCA in their Acceptable Solutions.
This webinar is intended primarily for structural engineers who are familiar with the design of traditional construction materials such as concrete and steel and would like to gain a first-hand, practical understanding of a different building material.
In this webinar, engineers involved in the design of glass elements will re-look glass as a structural material.
