Description:
Safety in construction sites is of paramount importance not only to protect oneself but also to ensure safety for fellow site personnel on site.
This programme is for stakeholders in construction projects (Resident Engineers, Resident Technical officers, Site Supervisors etc) and it explains the laws on safety for construction site and discusses construction safety for the various site operations commonly executed in a construction project.
OBJECTIVE
Participants will know how the current laws related to safety in Singapore protect them and their fellow site personnel. They will be able to supervise and/or carry out daily site operations with a focus on safety. They are able to identify hazards related to various site activities and take steps to control risks arising from such hazards.
COURSE OUTLINES:
- Review of Workplace Safety & Health Act and Work Injury Compensation Act
- Basic risk management concepts for construction site safety
- Construction Safety: Formwork Structures / Excavations & Tunneling
- Construction Safety: Demolitions / Cranes, Lifts & Machineries
- Construction Safety: Permit to work system
