IES CELEBRATES WORLD ENGINEERING DAY 2023
Dear Members

IES celebrated the World Engineering Day (WED) 2023 for Sustainable Development with the IES Green Festival 2023 at Science Centre Singapore on March 4, 2023.

The Festival attracted some 500 students and members of the public, where they learnt and explored engineering possibilities for a more sustainable future, picking the brains of thought leaders along the way.

Curated alongside this year's WED 2023 theme "Engineering Innovation for a more Resilient World", it was broadcast live as part of WED celebrations around the world. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and Environment, Dr Amy Khor, graced the festival as guest-of-honour, where she engaged attendees on sustainability in the Singapore context in a Fireside Chat.

Among the interactive fun-filled activities were an exhibition showcase by IES Student Chapters, Tech Talks on agritech and re-imagining the future of engineering, a Bicycle Dynamo Challenge, a Green Trivia Challenge, a Sustainability Drones Challenge, and an opportunity to take the Green Nation Pledge supported by the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment.

IES wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to all sponsors, IHLs, and green partners for their support for the IES Green Festival 2023.
