We will be hosting the IES 57th Annual Dinner & World Engineers Summit 2023 Conference Dinner on 9 November, Thursday, at Marina Bay Sands Singapore in celebration of the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards and Sustainability Awards 2023, where participants will be recognised for their outstanding achievements in sustainability and the world of engineering.

Inter-Professional Games 2023 [Date and Venue TBC] Dear Members, After three years, the Inter-Professional Games are finally back! The Inter-Professional Games of Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Bowling, Golf and Table Tennis are played amongst the accountants, architects, doctors, engineers, lawyers, surveyors and valuers from: - Singapore Medical Association (SMA)
- The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA)
- Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA)
- Law Society of Singapore (LSS)
- The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES)
- Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV)

DEADLINE EXTENDED! [CALL FOR PAPERS] The 6th Biennial World Engineers Summit 2023 8-10 November, 2023 Marina Bay Sands, Singapore WES 2023 Technical Committee invites the submission of technical papers for presentation at the Summit, in the following areas:
1. Sustainability through Technology 2. Building a Resilient Future against Climate Change 3. Future of Industry Sustainability 4. Smart and Sustainable Urban Mobility 5. A Greener and Renewable Built Environment 6. Pedagogy and Education Technology in Engineering Education
We would like to invite authors to register by 31 August 2023, and submit a 200-250 words abstract by 30 September here.
Launched in 2013, the biennial World Engineers Summit (WES) is a premier platform for engineering-centric discussions to advance the world towards a resilient, sustainable future.
From 8 to 10 November 2023, The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) will host WES 2023 in Singapore. Themed ‘Engineering for a Sustainable Future’, the sixth WES will facilitate the timely exchange of knowledge, ideas and solutions amongst engineers to support the world’s net-zero transition.
Joining the engineering community will be thought leaders, policy-makers, specialists, business leaders and academics from across the globe. Together, they will share expert opinions and solutions to address global issues arising from climate change and carbon-intensive urban development.
WES 2023 is a key event in 2023 for the IES Green Plan 2030, unveiled in January 2023 to support Singapore’s sustainability journey. To view the flyer, click here.

National Engineers Day (NED) 2023: Shaping a Circular Economy Through Engineering
15-26 August 2023, 9.00am - 5.00pm ITE College Central Annually celebrated since 2010, NED is back for its 14th edition this coming August. The National Engineers Day 2023 aims to recognize the achievements of young engineers, to inspire them, and nurture a keen interest in engineering.
NED also incorporates the Engineering Innovation Challenge (EIC), a nation-wide competition where students work on a theme-based project for students to gain hands-on experience in developing innovative solutions to address real-world problems, with this year's theme being Engineering for Resilient City Living. Calling for Women in Science, Engineering and Research (WiSER) Members As part of the IES Professional Engagement Group, WiSER was formed to organize activities for women in engineering. It was set up with the purpose of: - Empowering and promoting women’s leadership in the industry and professional fields;
- Creating greater awareness amongst women in Science, Engineering, and Research;
- Promoting WiSER to aspiring students.
- Strengthening the women’s community in engineering.
This is accomplished through the provision of social and professional events and activities within its women engineers and collaboration with other members of IES.
The committee is now looking for dynamic women members who would like to participate in its activities to support, develop, and advance this field.
