In recent years, IES has intensified its efforts to establish thought leadership through print, broadcast, and online media. We are currently seeking to expand our Tamil language capabilities in this aspect. Prof Chen Charng Ning, who passed away on 30 November 2019, was the founding Dean of the School of Civil & Structural Engineering (now the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering) and the former Deputy President of NTU.

The Professor Chen Charng Ning Distinguished Lecture is established in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education in Singapore and the construction industry
