WES 2021 - Engineering Towards a Post-pandemic Sustainable World: 10 - 12 Nov 2021, Resorts World Sentosa [15 PDU (PE, CEng, SCEM) APPROVED]

IES will be hosting the 5th biennial World Engineers Summit in November. The summit is a timely opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas to support the world’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. It will focus on mobilising and realising innovative engineering solutions to challenges arising from the global crisis, create new economic frontiers and capture new sustainability opportunities.
 
WES 2021 will deliver a rich programme comprising keynote addresses by leading experts and discussions along six tracks: Sustainable Living Through Technology, Future Engineering and Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digitalisation, Sustainable Urban Mobility, Engineering Education, and the Impact of New Technologies on Productisation, Safety and Human Factors Practice.

FEIAP Guidebook on Infrastructure Sustainability

The Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) Standing Committee for Environmental Engineering, has developed a Guidebook on Infrastructure Sustainability. It was developed through rigorous research and reviews of global trends, benchmarked against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The guidebook serves as a starting point for those looking to get a better understanding of sustainable and resilient infrastructure. It is a free reference resource, and can be downloaded from the FEIAP Environmental Engineering website at http://www.feiap.org/environmental-engineering/.

Survey for the Design for Safety System for the
Hong Kong Construction Industry

The Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (CIC) has appointed Arcadis, to develop a Design for Safety Management System (DfS) and training program to improve construction safety in Hong Kong.  As part of the study, Arcadis is conducting a survey to identify the current adoption and best practices of the Design for Safety in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The results of the survey will help us develop a suitable and effective Design for Safety Management System applicable to Hong Kong.
